Start with the real recipient

Use the name of the person or organization that can receive the parcel and respond to a carrier. A nickname that local staff do not recognize can create avoidable confusion. For business deliveries, include the company context in the available address fields without replacing the responsible contact.

Region, city, and postal code solve different parts of the route

The region is the state, province, prefecture, or equivalent administrative area. The city identifies the locality. The postal code directs the parcel through the destination postal system. They are not interchangeable.

Use the locally recognized spelling and preserve meaningful letters in postal codes. Default address is a convenience, not a permanent order link

When an order is created, the selected address is copied into an address snapshot. Editing or deleting the saved address later does not rewrite that historical order. This protects fulfillment records and means you must correct a new order before submission rather than assuming a profile edit will reach an existing shipment.

Recheck after every material change

Address changes can affect shipping methods and cost. Recalculate the quote after changing country, region, city, postal code, or parcel-relevant details. Confirm the selected address again on any payment step that displays it.

Final checklist

Before creating the order, confirm:

• Recipient and company context are recognizable.
• The phone reaches the recipient in an international delivery context.
• Country, region, city, and postal code occupy the correct fields.
• Street, building, and unit details are complete.
