Puff printing uses a specially formulated ink containing a heat-activated expansion agent. During curing, the printed ink rises above the surface and develops a soft, rounded, three-dimensional texture with visible depth. The result has a tactile raised feel and creates stronger shadows and highlights than a conventional flat print. Puff printing works best with bold shapes, medium-to-thick lines, lettering, and artwork designed to emphasize volume; extremely fine details may lose definition as the ink expands.
